Akshay Kumar has reportedly entered a profit-sharing model with filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala for his upcoming movies Welcome 3 and Hera Pheri 3
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar left his fans excited when he announced that he is returning with two of his most beloved franchises Hera Pheri 3 and Welcome 3. While he wasn’t a past of the sequel of Welcome, the audiences dearly missed his character Rajeev. Being one of the highest-paid actors in the Hindi film industry, a recent report suggests that he has decided to cut his fees for the upcoming movies and has entered into a profit sharing model with producer Firoz Nadiadwala.
As per the report by Bollywood Life, Akki was sad regarding the speculation of Kartik Aaryan replacing him in the third instalment of Hera Pheri, which also stars Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the lead. He went on to meet with Nadiadwala and sorted out all their differences. The entertainment portal also claimed that keeping in mind the filmmaker’s financial condition Akshay decided to enter into a ‘profit-sharing deal,’ instead of taking his usual fees. Quoting a source from Bollywood Hungama, the portal stated the saying, “Firoz wanted to retain the IP, and hence he has complete control over the IP, however, he will be sharing revenue with Akshay in a pre-decided ratio.” It was further stated that the 56-year-old actor personally spoke to Jio Studios and got them on board to produce the films with Nadiadwala. The source stated, “Once Jio came on board, it was one arrow, 3 solutions - Firoz got out of his debts, the franchises were revived and Akshay will be getting his share of profit from Jio, without any risk of films getting shelved.”
On the work front, last seen on the big screen with OMG 2 co-starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, Akshay Kumar has an impressive line-up ahead of him. He will be making his Marathi movie debut with Mahesh Manjrekar directorial Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. He will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He also has movies like Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Welcome 3 and Hera Pheri 3 in his pipeline.
